I’m not really the best person to ask about the Pi’s GPU (in fact, ask me nothing as that’s what I know) but it’s big news that Broadcom has announced that the VideoCore IV graphics core has been completely documented and the graphics stack source released under a BSD license. It’s great news, as it’s opened up another chunk of the Pi for developers. There’s also a competition from the Foundation for someone to get Quake III running on the GPU.
