The Pi reaches it’s 2nd Birthday today… Okay, not today exactly as it was launched on 29th February 2012, but close enough!
The Pi has become very important in my life. It has changed the way I think about electronics and shaped what I do in the majority of my free time. When I’m not soldering up something new, or programming in Python, I am organising the Cambridge Raspberry Jam. Organising the Jams, with Tim Richardson (@geeky_tim), has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life and I hope it continues for some time. It’s enabled me to meet up with like-minded people and, more importantly, to help children learn programming and electronics. The next one is on 10th May and I know it will be an enormous achievement to get it organised in time so that it’s a success. But I’m confident that we’ll be able to do it with the small army of helpers and planners we’ve got behind us.
