Whats really interesting is I decided to change the socket on mine as well and upon looking at ebay I found this:

Now look really closely and compare to your Pi, Its 100% identical except the solder lugs go upwards instead of downwards. This means the super fragile side is up against the PCB where it will be much stronger and the exposed part is the thick side with the thumb cutout. Its almost like the Pi has it on upside down!
That’s a much better way up!
