Prajakta Bhambare has designed a weatherproof case for the Raspberry Pi that you can 3D-print. You’ll need to get things like the waterproof rubber seal yourself, but it’s a great idea if you want to set-up a security or nature camera. Take a look at the gallery here and go to pinshape.com to download the .stl files. Update: He has now written a blog post describing how he came up with the idea and tested it out in real-life conditions. Read it here.
I would like this case commercially available. Not too many of us have access to a 3D printer and off printing is rather expensive.
Perhaps as a Kickstarter project??
Hello Nigel,
Thank for a wonderful feedback. I agree many do not have the 3D printer available. I am initially exploring option of streaming to print to know community feedback.
I also do not have 3D printer, but use makexyz.com to locate nearest 3D printer in my city. Then collect the print either in person or mail.
Best Regards,
I agree, Nigel. I’d buy one!
I have a model B will the case work for it?
Just looking at it, I would say No. It looks too narrow.
