Over at UK Tech Reviews, Spencer Organ has been developing a PiTFT touchscreen menu system using PyGame. It’s in the early stages and the buttons don’t do anything yet, but he’s shared his code so far and will be expanding on his work in the near future. Read about it here and see the code here.
