Over at The New Tech, Moonlit has been working on reproducing the Teletext television text service. A lot of it is over my head, but it still makes for an interesting read. Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here
Mini rover with night vision powered by a #RaspberryPi
Over on Makezine, Clayton Ritcher has created a 3x6x4 inch Raspberry Pi-powered rover. Here’s what he has to say about it:
The Raspberry Rover is a small RC car with a Raspberry Pi for a brain. It is controlled over a Wi-Fi network through a TCP/IP socket, and streams back live video from an on-board webcam. It even sports ‘Night Vision’ for navigation in the dark.
Macro Photography with the #RaspberryPi camera
Another blog post from Raspberry Pi Spy this morning. Matt’s been indulging his son’s interest in insects by using a macro lens with the PiCam to take photographs of a fly and a moth. The results are outstanding considering the price of the camera and the lens. Read more and see photos
Review of RAVPower 10400mAh battery pack with a #RaspberryPi
XBMC #RaspberryPi remote control using a smart phone
Just some quick blogs this morning as I want to get onto my Picorder wiring!
Here’s a blog post at Slice of Raspberry Pi in which you can set-up XBMC (in this case the RaspBMC flavour, but I imagine it works with the others) with a web-interface and then control it using your smart phone. Read more here
Point & Shoot Camera with the #RaspberryPi
Following on from Alex Eames’ great work on a Picam-powered point-and-shoot video camera, here’s another one. James Wolf has created a lovely camera with a nice chunky button and a cute GPIO breakout board.
Read more about how James did it here and view an album of the shots he took.
