Predict the Northern Lights using a #RaspberryPi
Here’s something for any Northerners out there. Very North!
RiYa has written a script for his Pi that interprets data from NOAA to predict the appearance of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
#RaspberryPi steampunk-inspired goggles display
John Ohno has disassembled a head-mounted display, hooked up the Pi’s composite video output and fixed the display into a pair of steampunk goggles. It’s an awesome-looking project (though I suspect quite uncomfortable to wear!)
Hijacking a Robosapien with a #RaspberryPi
Element14 blogger ’emotep’ has taken an old Robosapien robot and converted it for use with the Raspberry Pi and a LIRC infrared dongle. It’s a great project because it shows that you can recycle your old tech with a Pi and make something cool.
RasPi.TV develops touchscreen version of #RaspberryPi camcorder
Alex Eames has been busy working out how to use a small touchscreen he got from someone on the Raspberry Pi Forum.
He’s finally got it to display the feed from the camera module following their instructions.
Fixing a broken SD card slot on the #RaspberryPi
Nice tutorial over at smstextblog – how to cleanly and neatly repair your Pi’s SD card slot with a £3 replacement. As he says, much better than ditching the Pi!
