PiPod gets a new name and a new distro
>
I’ve decided to rename the PiPod to Redwing. Redwing is another variety of raspberry. The reason for the name? Because it sounds cool (to me, admittedly). Logo coming soon!
Redwing is also the name I’m using for the package of scripts and utilities I’ve written for myself to make life easier with the Pi. I’ll be releasing them over the next few weeks as I finish and refine them.
To go along with Redwing, I’ve decided to switch from the official Raspbian image at raspberrypi.org to the Adafruit distribution “Occidentalis” or dun-dun-dunnnnnn… “Black Raspberry”. (I’m shaking with fear on the inside).

Rob Bishop set Hoboken Hackerspace a “build a project” challenge. Zack Freedman built a wearable computer with a tiny display in front of his eye. Very “We are the Borg”!
