The Raspberry Pi Foundation has just announced the release of the CAD files for the Compute Module IO Board. Here’s what they say about the format that they’ve been released in:
The design files are the Cadence OrCAD schematic file, Cadence Allegro PCB file and the full board Gerbers, bill of materials (BOM) and PDF version of the schematic. People should be able to take the design and easily modify it, or just take the Gerber files and create copies of the board if that’s what they want to do.
Reddit user Angryspec spent a few months adapting a SNES console and some control pads so that he could emulate the SNES and other gaming consoles. More details and pictures of the build are available here.
A group of developers are currently working on porting Firefox OS to the Raspberry Pi as either downloadable software packages or a flashable image. You can already install a demo version of the OS to your Pi by following the instructions on the wiki page, which also contains more info about the project.
Jon Aasenden took a disused Raspberry Pi, some battery packs and installed UAE4All to give him a portable Amiga. You can read how he did it here.

There have been lots of boards on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo for the Pi, and here’s another one – a really fun, educational one. This one is called the EduBoard and features the following:
With a goal of just £1,100, this one should be successful, they just need a few more backers! The board costs from £15 (slightly more to ship outside the UK) and I think this is a really realistic, sensible price.
